Ashley Wagner is the President of Chesterfield Companies, where she leads the strategic vision and oversees operations across all three affiliated organizations. Since joining Chesterfield in 2013, Ashley has held several key leadership roles, including Insurance Services Manager for Chesterfield Insurance Agency and Vice President of Chesterfield Resources. In these roles, she managed employee benefit programs, commercial insurance placements, and the daily operations of the Health Claims, Customer Service, and Care Management departments.

Ashley is a licensed attorney in the state of Ohio, with legal experience in both the private sector and as an Assistant Attorney General in the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. She earned her undergraduate degree from Kent State University and her law degree from Capital University Law School.

Ashley is committed to delivering exceptional service and innovative solutions to Chesterfield’s client. She resides in New Philadelphia, Ohio, with her husband, two teenage sons, and their four dogs.

Philip Felgenhauer serves as Vice President of Chesterfield Companies, where he leads operations across all three affiliated organizations. Since joining Chesterfield in 1994, Phil has held a variety of key leadership positions, including roles in claims, loss control, human resources, and insurance services. He previously served as Vice President of Chesterfield Insurance Agency, where he managed daily operations and oversaw the placement of property/casualty, life, disability, and supplemental insurance products.

Phil’s expertise spans property/casualty insurance claims, loss control inspections, and commercial insurance placements. Prior to his tenure at Chesterfield, he gained valuable industry experience at both Cincinnati Insurance Company and Nationwide Insurance.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from Kent State University and has earned the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation.

Phil resides in Bolivar, Ohio, and is a proud father of four adult children and grandfather to three grandchildren.

Lisa VanderKaay serves as Vice President of Chesterfield Resources, bringing over 18 years of experience within Chesterfield Companies. Her career spans both property and casualty insurance and employee benefits, including four years managing non-health benefits and 14 years overseeing Health Plans.

Lisa holds a master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and recently earned her Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation, underscoring her commitment to professional development and excellence in risk management.

Outside of work, Lisa enjoys baking, playing pool, and spending time with her two rescue dogs, Sammie and Cooper.

Chad Markle has served as Chesterfield Services’ Risk Control Manager for the past decade, bringing over 20 years of experience in insurance, compliance, and safety. A member of the Risk Control department since 2007, Chad leads both the Risk Control and Driver Qualification teams, overseeing the development and implementation of policies that reduce the frequency and severity of workers’ compensation, automobile, general liability, and property claims.

Under Chad’s leadership, the Risk Control team conducts more than 1,300 site assessments annually and supports a wide range of services including property valuations, regulatory compliance (local and federal), and internal auditing. His expertise spans claim management, life safety, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.

Chad holds a bachelor’s degree from Muskingum University and has earned the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation.

Brian Mazzarella serves as the Claims Manager for Chesterfield Services overseeing all Workers’ Compensation, Property, Automobile, and Casualty claims. Since joining Chesterfield in 2015 as a claims adjuster, he steadily advanced into leadership roles, bringing over two decades of insurance industry experience to the team.

Brian earned his degree in Business Finance from Kent State University and began his career in insurance in 1998. His extensive background and dedication to client service have made him a respected leader in claims management.

He resides in Tallmadge, Ohio, with his wife, their two children, and two dogs.

Carrie Horvath serves as the Insurance Service Manager at Chesterfield Insurance Agency, where she oversees daily operations and the placement of the property and casualty, life, disability, and supplemental insurance products. With more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, Carrie brings extensive expertise in commercial property and casualty insurance, risk placement, and claims management, supported by a strong background in leadership and operations.

Carrie attended Malone University, obtained her insurance license in 2004, and earned her CISR designation in 2015. She remains committed to ongoing professional development and continually expanding her knowledge within the insurance field.

Her dedication to Chesterfield Insurance Agency and the insurance profession is reflected in her commitment to delivering exceptional service to both her team and clients. Carrie resides in North Lawrence, Ohio, with her husband and is a proud mother of three children and her dog, Willow. 

As the Human Resources and Operations Manager, Gina supports Chesterfield by aligning employee needs with operational goals to promote consistency, efficiency, and overall organizational effectiveness. Her role combines strategic human resources leadership with operational oversight, enabling strong collaboration across teams. Through clear communication, structured processes, and proactive problem‑solving, Gina helps foster a workplace rooted in engagement, accountability, and long‑term success.

Outside of work, Gina is a proud wife and mother—her son is currently serving in the United States Air Force—and a devoted dog mom to Chloe, a spirited mini Aussie, and Archie, a lovable golden retriever. She enjoys spending time outdoors, whether tackling yard projects, riding UTVs, or relaxing poolside on her deck.

Gina has lived in and traveled to numerous countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Japan, Jamaica, and Mexico. These global experiences have broadened her perspective and deepened her appreciation for diverse cultures, backgrounds, and viewpoints—insight she brings to her professional approach and daily interactions.
